Single Origin vs Blend Coffee: What Is the Difference?

On every coffee menu you will see two words: single origin coffee and coffee blend. Both can be excellent, but they offer a different experience in the cup. Here is how to choose.

What is single origin coffee?

Single origin coffee comes from one country, one region or sometimes one farm. It shows the unique character of where it grows: the soil, the altitude and the climate. Coffees from Peru, Mexico or Bali Blue each have their own personality, from chocolate and nuts to fruit and spice.

  • Unique, traceable flavors
  • Great for discovering new tastes
  • Perfect for black coffee, pour-over and espresso lovers who like variety

What is a coffee blend?

A blend combines coffee beans from different origins. Roasters create blends to get a balanced, consistent taste all year long. A good espresso blend often mixes beans for body, sweetness and a thick crema.

  • Balanced and consistent flavor
  • Strong, full body, ideal for espresso and milk drinks
  • A reliable everyday coffee for work and sport

Which one should you choose?

  • Choose single origin if you love exploring flavors and drink your coffee black.
  • Choose a blend if you want a strong, balanced espresso every morning or love lattes and cappuccinos.

Freshness matters for both

Whether you choose a single origin or a blend, fresh roasting makes the biggest difference. Every Feel Espresso coffee is roasted 1–5 days before delivery and shipped in 2–5 days, so you taste the real character of the beans.
